Saturday / Travel to Guatemala

Transfer from airport to Antigua.
Overnight in Antigua.

(Note: Many families choose to travel earlier for other activities / family time and meet the group in Antigua).

Sunday / Orientation / Niños con Bendicion

Meet as a group during breakfast for introductions and a brief program orientation. Mid morning transport to San Antonio Aguas Calientes (@20 min from Antigua). This is an excellent opportunity to see local culture in a "typical" home - try weaving, grinding corn, make tortillas and get a taste of daily life. Extra time for kids of all ages to play and share. Shop for homemade textiles and crafts.
Afternoon/evening at leisure.
Overnight in Antigua.

Monday / Mayan Music Museum “La Azotea”

After breakfast, transport with your guide to the Mayan Music Museum @10 min from Antigua. Visit the music and coffee museums with an early afternoon return to Antigua.

Tuesday / Iximche / Panajachel

After breakfast, depart for Panajachel via the ruins of Iximche - the first Capital of Guatemala after the conquest.
Iximche is still an active Mayan ritual site.
Visit the ruins with your guide then continue to Panajachel and your hotel.
Afternoon/evening at leisure.
Overnight in Panajachel “Pana”.

Wednesday / “Fun Day” on Lake Atitlan

After breakfast, take a boat ride on Lake Atitlan to the village of Santa Cruz where you will spend the day with your bilingual guide hiking, kayaking, swimming, relaxing and more! All equipment and activities as per USA safety standards. Enjoy a family-style lunch. Late afternoon return to hotel in Pana.

Overnight in Panajachel.

Thursday / Free Day

Free day to enjoy the hotel pool, take another boat ride, visit the Nature reserve, zip line, visit a school, medical clinic, or participate in a local service project. OR Take a day trip to Chichicastenango.

Afternoons and evenings at leisure - with the option to spend more time in Guatemala - offers the opportunity to do a volcano climb, shop, relax, swim, visit with old friends and/or foster or birth families, experience Tikal, the beach, other parts of Guatemala.
